My guest on the Caroline Glick Show this week is Haim Bernstein, whose son Lt. Col. Yehonatan Tzor served as commander of the Nahal Infantry Brigade’s Reconnaissance Unit. Tzor was killed in battle with Hamas terrorists as he made his way to his base along the Gaza border on October 7. Tzor grew up in the community of Yitzhar in Samaria and was considered a member of the much maligned “Hilltop Youth” until he joined the IDF. Bernstein, the son of olim from the United States spoke with me about the special relationship between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel, and how his son lived this relationship — joining the sacred and the mundane in everything he did in life. Tzor’s journey was a chronicle of Jewish endurance. It is a story for Jews in Israel and the Diaspora and for people worldwide who seek meaning and goodness in this world.
