On June 20, the judges overseeing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s trial informed the prosecutors and defense attorneys that the bribery charge has not been proven and should be dropped from the indictment.

The implications are significant. To analyze them, my guest on this week’s show was Bar Ilan University Law School and University of San Diego School of Law Professor Avi Bell.

Prof. Bell and I discussed the implications of the the collapse of the prosecution’s case and how we arrived at this point.

We also discussed the State Department’s announcement that it is setting aside the U.S.-Israel agreement on scientific cooperation from 2020 that ended the geographical restrictions on that cooperation enabling institutions in Judea and Samaria to participate in U.S. funded research.

At the end of our conversation, we moved to the government’s renewed bid to pass judicial reform through the Knesset after talks at the President’s House ended in stalemate.
