This week on “The Caroline Glick Show,” David Goldman from the Asia Times joined me to discuss the status of the war in Ukraine, whose bitter one-year anniversary we mark this week.

We discussed the state of the war on the ground, and the prospects for ending it. We talked about how the war has impacted the United States’ reputation as an ally and a global superpower, regional realities in the Middle East in light of Russia’s burgeoning alliance with Iran, and how Israel needs to assess its relationship with the United States, Russia and China as Iran strides towards a declared nuclear arsenal and the U.S. sinks in stature, competence and credibility.

In my opening, Caroline talked about the historic significance of the Knesset’s passage in first reading of the first two bills in the Israeli government’s judicial reform package.

Monday, Feb. 21, 2023, the Jewish new month of Adar, marked the first time in Israeli history that the right began seizing governing power from Israel’s permanent bureaucracy. The November 1 election was the first time that supporters of widescale judicial and legal reform won a clear cut majority in the elections. The only way to begin the process of restoring Israel’s democracy after the court and the state lawyers have effectively stolen all governing and legislating powers from the government and Knesset over the past 30 years, is to pass Justice Minister Yariv Levin’s stage one legislative program.
