In Episode 26 of the Caroline Glick Mideast News Hour I was joined by Dr. Stephen Bryen. Bryen, a former Pentagon official was involved in developing the Strategic Defense Initiative during the Reagan administration.
Last month the Financial Times reported that China tested a hypersonic missile in August. And this month the Gatestone Institute reported that China tested a satellite killing satellite. We discussed the technologies, and where the U.S. stands vis-a-vis China and Russia, (spoiler alert: it’s way behind). We also discussed the U.S.’s options for defending itself and how Israel is helping the U.S. make up for the massive gaps in its anti-missile defenses.
We then shifted gears and discussed the impediments to U.S. strategic planning and what a rational U.S. policy vs. China would look like.
It was a sobering and fascinating discussion.
