That’s a brilliant little group there. I hope you do more song parodies. When I went to YouTube, it said the video had been taken down due to copyright infringement. That has to be the most ridiculous excuse I’ve ever heard of. If that constitutes copyright infringement, what do they think of Weird Al Yankovich, and his and others song parodies. I’m pretty sure Weird Al has been on YouTube, but even if I’m wrong about that, a song parody is obviously not copyright infringement.
Keep up the great work. By the way, not all song parodies have to be political in nature. Do a mix of political satire and just Weird Al style fun stuff and it might help expand your viewer base. Just a thought.

Why don’t you take YouTube to court? This will keep “We Con The World” alive all over the world. You can upload a video on YouTube telling people about the court case, which would include a short except of the original, with a link to your and the other sites which have the original. I, and I’m sure people around the world, will be happy to contribute to the project.
Mark is spot on. Many videos labeled “We Con the World” are propaganda Islamic misleading filth. Also remember that we can mark these as inappropriate with the reason of “misleading text” under spam.

Fred, it is a little difficult to follow the line of thought in your post as it has a stream of consciousness-vibe about it, but I’d like to try to respond. You seem to be arguing that there is a legal misconception here, but then later on your argument unfolds as an ethical one. To be frank, every comedian and parodiast has to ask him or herself the question of what impact ridiculing this work, person, idea, etc. will do. So, at the risk of being rude, what does this have to do with copyright law? What I’m trying to point out is that you effectively disprove your first point (that there might be a copyright violation here, especially if this isn’t a genuine parody) with your second point (discussing the ethics of the parody, therby proving that this is, in fact, a parody). Besides, this second point is purely one of judgment, conscience, and so on.
It is very apparent that you put alot of effort into your post, so perhaps I’m missing something here….
