Below is a speech that Andrew Breitbart gave at an Republican Jewish Coalition conference in Los Angeles at the height of the Anthony Weiner episode.
I am posting his speech for two reasons. First, it shows that Breitbart was a good friend of Israel and a good Jew. He deserves to be remembered for this no less than for his great contribution to the American conservative movement.
The second reason I am posting it is because I am constantly appalled by the weakness of the message emanating from the organized Jewish leadership in the US. It takes gadflies like Breitbart, who wasn’t a member of any Jewish organization as far as I know to tell the truth about the nature of the conflict and about Obama’s hostility to Israel.
Oh, and one more thing, his message at the end imploring conservative Jews to support the Tea Party movement was absolutely correct. From Sarah Palin to Michele Bachmann to Glenn Beck to all the grassroots leaders of the Tea Party movement that I have met over the past three years, I can say that they are the most pro-Israel activists in the US I have ever met. It is a source of shame, (one among many), that not only have the large American Jewish groups failed to support them, but some have actually joined the Obama administration in casting aspersions on the Tea Party movement.
Now with no further ado, here’s his speech.
