As the crisis mounted in the week before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Russia sent strategic bombers, nuclear-capable cruise missiles and hypersonic missiles to Syria and Russian Defense Minister Shoigo flew to Syria to unroll them. In Episode 40 of the Caroline Glick Middle East News Hour, I hosted U.S. Army Col. Joel Rayburn, who among other things, served as U.S. envoy to Syria during the Trump administration.
Col. Rayburn and I discussd Russia’s strategic and tactical and logistic game in Syria and how it fits into its operations in Ukraine. We then moved to the U.S., Turkey and Israel, their operations in Syria and what threats and opportunities Russia’s operations present to all of them.
