Your assumption that Islam’s dark nature can be tamed by some sort of political (think tank) process is fallacy.
The conflict with Ishmael was spirtually birthed and will end by divine intervention just as Israel’s slavery in Egypt was.
Some things are just way out of mankinds hands to fix as 16 years of superpower intervention and billions to appease Islam have all failed miserable.
My suggestion to everyone who wants genuine lasting peace is to do what Abraham failed to do (which produced the offspring Ishmael)

There is no solution to the conflict with Islam. Nothing Israel can offer will satisfy the other side. All that can be done is to manage it. That’s a far cry from peace but is better than war or committing national suicide. For now, Israel has no compelling reason to change the status quo.

Dear Caroline, it’s important for Israelis to know that Justice Now, an organization that has undertaken a long and in-depth study of international law as it concerns Israeli borders, will be taking legal action against the Obama administration for violating the League of Nations Agreement and other related treaties.
In 1924, the US signed a treaty with the British in which the Mandate was adopted as part of the treaty.
Article VI of the US Constitution calls a treaty the “Supreme Law of the land.” The rights conveyed through the treaty still stand, including the prohibition to cede Jewish land, as well as the right of settlement.
Obama’s demand that Israel halt settlement construction violates the 1924 treaty. President Obama has no right, under US law, to call Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria an “occupation.”
It’s necessary for Israelis to get back to basics: International Law. All other discussions only prolong the uncertainty and suffering of Israelis.
Jews ought to know that they don’t have to surrender their land. And the US should stop raising false expectations among Arabs, which can eventually lead to very negative consequences.
With the present Israeli government carrying on discussions as if Israel already had already all but surrendered sovereignty over Judea, Samaria and parts of Jerusalem is extremely dangerous.
Justice Now may be the catalyst that ends the series of Israel’s insane and self-destructive policies.

Israel needs to revive its strategic deterrent against terrorists. Successive liberal premiers have undermined Israel’s security by not consistently using reprisals against terrorist acts. Arabs respect force, and need to be taught again that attacking Israel will gain them nothing.

Caroline is absolutely right! This is so basic and obvious that the fact of continued existence of the land-for-peace camp is just stunning. I would add one thing that Caroline didn’t address – UNRWA. Transfer of Arab refugees under the jurisdiction of the Commission on Refugees must be Israel’s highest priority as UNRWA plays a tremendous role in perpetuation of this conflict.
