Chomsky and Nasrallah.jpg

Courtesy of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Thursday Israel will again be the target of a jihadist-leftist propaganda assault. A flotilla of nine ships which set sail for Gaza from Cyprus earlier this week is scheduled to arrive at our doorstep.

The expressed aim of the flotilla’s organizers is to unlawfully provide aid and comfort to Hamas – an illegal terrorist organization. Since it seized power in Gaza three years ago, Hamas, which is openly committed to the genocide of world Jewry and the physical eradication of Israel, has transformed the Gaza Strip into a hub of the global jihad. It has been illegally holding hostage Gilad Schalit incommunicado for four years. And it is continuously engaged in a massive, Iranian-financed arms buildup ahead of its next assault.

Beyond providing aid to Hamas, the declared aim of the “Free Gaza” movement is to coerce Israel into providing Hamas with an outlet to the sea. This too is in contravention of international law which expressly prohibits states and non-state actors from providing any support to terrorist organizations.

IN SENDING out the latest group of ships, Turkey and its Irish, Greek and Swedish partners seek to appropriate the imagery of the Jewish pre-statehood struggle for independence from Britain. In a bid to appease Hamas’s jihadist precursors, in 1939 Britain’s Mandatory authorities broke international law and prohibited Jewish immigration to Mandatory Palestine.

The League of Nations’ letter of mandate for Britain specifically enjoined the British to facilitate Jewish immigration to the land of Israel. Yet following the Arab terror war from 1936-1939, the British issued the White Paper that all but prohibited Jewish immigration. This move blocked the one place on Earth where European Jews were wanted from accepting them and so trapped 6 million Jews in Hitler’s Europe.

In the aftermath of the war, the British maintained their prohibition on Jewish immigration. To fight this British policy, the Zionist leadership in pre-state Israel organized the Aliya Bet program of illegal immigration. Jewish agents scoured the world for ships large enough to bring Europe’s Jewish refugees to the land of Israel.

The ship most emblematic of the era was the Exodus. The Exodus which set sail from France in July 1947 with 4,515 Jewish Holocaust survivors on board was the Zionist response to a new British policy to force illegal immigrant ships to return to Europe.

The British rammed the Exodus in Haifa. They boarded and killed three Jewish defenders. They then forced its passengers to board British prison ships that would return them to Europe. French authorities denied the ships the right to land in France, so the British sailed on to Hamburg, Germany, where the refugees were forced to disembark.

The international outcry against Britain in the wake of the Exodus affair shamed London into cancelling its new policy. It also paved the way for Israel’s independence 10 months later.

Now the Turkish, Greek, Swedish and Irish governments are colluding with Hamas to purloin the imagery of the Exodus and the heroism of the Jewish people in the years leading up to statehood and project that imagery onto a terrorist organization that seeks to complete Hitler’s work. They further seek to invert reality by portraying Israel, which in accordance with international law is trying to contain and defeat Hamas, as a combination of the German Nazis and the British imperialists.

SO FAR, they are getting away with it. So far, for their efforts on behalf of a genocidal terrorist organization Erdogan and his ilk are being extolled as human rights champions. Barring any unexpected events, Israel will suffer yet another public relations disaster on Thursday when the ships approach Gaza.

How has this happened? How is it that we have become so overwhelmed by the Left’s propaganda that most of our political leaders and intellectual elite are incapable of even describing the evil that is being advanced against us?

Over the past generation, the Left has commandeered our language. It has inverted the terminology of human rights, freedom, morality, heroism, democracy and victimization. Its perversion of language has made it nearly impossible for members of democratic, human rights respecting, moral societies to describe the threats they face from their human rights destroying, genocidal, tyrannical enemies. Thanks to the efforts of the international Left, the latter are championed as the victims of those they seek to annihilate.

Two incidents in recent weeks make clear just how disastrous the Left’s wholesale theft of language and through it, their inversion of reality has been for Israel.

Last Monday, Noam Chomsky arrived at the Allenby Bridge and requested a visa to enter Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The police at the border refused his request. The radical leftist Israel-basher made a fuss and waited around for several hours before he went back to Jordan.

Chomsky left Jordan at the end of the week and travelled to Lebanon. For the second time in four years, on Friday Chomsky toured southern Lebanon with a Hizbullah guide. Now an official guest of Hizbullah, Chomsky is scheduled to give an address in Beirut Tuesday to celebrate the IDF’s pullout from south Lebanon 10 years ago.

As David Hornik detailed in FrontPage Magazine on Friday, the leftist-dominated Israeli media went nuts when they discovered Chomsky had been turned away at the border. Yediot Aharonot and Haaretz heralded Chomsky as a great mind and proclaimed hysterically that the refusal to allow him to enter the country marked the end of Israeli democracy and the start of a slide into fascism. The Western media quickly piled on and within hours Israel’s right to deny its avowed enemies entry was under assault.

And Chomsky is Israel’s enemy. As Hornik pointed out, Chomsky has repeatedly defended Holocaust deniers while accusing Israel of being the ideological heir of Nazi Germany. When he hasn’t been too busy championing the Khmer Rouge and Josef Stalin, and attacking the US as the Great Satan, Chomsky has devoted much time and energy to calling for Israel’s eradication and defending Palestinian and Hizbullah terrorists.

IT WAS the government’s job to point this out. But instead, faced with the leftist onslaught against its right to control its borders, the government crumpled. Instead of explaining that Chomsky is an enemy of Israel and an abettor and defender of genocide, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s spokesman Mark Regev apologized for the unpleasant reception Chomsky received at the Allenby Bridge. Regev also promised that if Chomsky returns, he will be granted an entry visa.

The government’s cowardly handling of the Chomsky incident is testament to the Left’s success at intimidating Western leaders to the point where instead of standing up to leftist propaganda and lies, they accept them as truth and even collaborate in disseminating them.

Probably the folks in the Prime Minister’s Office figured no one would listen if they told the truth about Chomsky. They probably felt that defending the decision to bar Chomsky from the country would only elicit a second barrage of media attacks.

And perhaps they were right. But the fact that the Left would have remained unconvinced doesn’t excuse the government’s abject su
rrender of the truth about Chomsky to Israel’s enemies on the Left who portray the MIT professor as a human rights activist and a great intellectual humanitarian. As David Horowitz and Peter Collier prove in their book The Anti-Chomsky Reader, there doesn’t seem to be a tyrant that Chomsky hasn’t championed or a victim that Chomsky hasn’t demonized in the entire span of his 50-year career as a radical activist.

The government is not alone in its fear of exposing and fighting the Left’s campaign to demonize the country.

THE RADICAL Left’s ability to block voices of dissent from its anti-Israel and anti-freedom positions was similarly demonstrated two weeks ago at Tel Aviv University’s annual Board of Governors meeting.

For several years, a large, vocal group of tenured professors from the university have actively participated in the international campaign to boycott Israeli universities and academics while actively supporting Hamas and Hizbullah. That is, many Tel Aviv University professors, whose salaries are paid by university donors and Israeli taxpayers, have been using their university titles to undermine the university and to advance the cause of Israel’s destruction.

This year the university’s Board of Governors bestowed an honorary doctorate on Harvard Prof. Alan Dershowitz. In his acceptance speech, Dershowitz called these professors out for their vile behavior and named three of the most vocal enemies of the university and Israel on the international stage: Profs. Anat Matar, Rachel Giora and Shlomo Sand.

The university’s tenured anti-Zionist activists were quick to retaliate. Forty-six professors signed a letter to university president Joseph Klaffter demanding that the university disassociate itself from Dershowitz’s statements.

Klaffter was quick to oblige. At the Board of Governors meeting, Klaffter silenced board member Mark Tanenbaum when he tried to put forward a resolution calling for disciplinary action against university professors who use their university titles to defame the university or Israel. Klaffter, who isn’t even a member of the Board of Governors, reportedly grabbed the microphone away from Tanenbaum and adjourned the meeting. Klaffter justified his physical denial of Tanenbaum’s freedom of speech by claiming that he was defending academic freedom.

Like the Prime Minister’s Office’s apology to Noam Chomsky, Klaffter’s action – aside from arguably being prohibited by his own university’s constitution – was further proof of the Left’s success in appropriating the language and imagery of freedom and tolerance in the service of forces that seek to destroy freedom and end tolerance.

ON THURSDAY Hamas’s maritime enablers from Europe, Turkey and beyond will arrive at our doorstep. The navy will block their entry to Gaza. Israel will be demonized by terror-abettors disguised as human rights activists and journalists worldwide. And the story will pave the way for the next assault on Israel’s right to exist.

This endless circle of demonization and aggression will continue to widen and escalate until our political leaders and our intellectual elite reclaim our language from those on the terror-abetting Left. True, our reclamation of our language will not go unopposed. But if we do not reassert our right to describe objective reality, our inability to explain why we are right and our detractors serve evil will be our undoing.

It is amazing how a little Judeophobia/Israelophobia can wipe clean the face of the filthiest tyrant, religious bigot, defender of genocide, etc. Erdogan continues the bloody war on the Kurds insurgents and continues the Turkish govt’s long-standing policy of denying the Armenian genocide. Here he even added insult to injury by threatening to deport 100,000 Armenians from Turkey. He is moving methodically to impose Islamist tyranny on Turkey. In this effort he stages show trials of his opposition and potential opposition, fabricating evidence as a necessary part of this campaign [see article by Rodrik & Dogan in latest The New Republic]. Lastly, he is conducting a hate campaign against Israel based on lies about the recent Gaza war and, using that war as a pretext, he is harassing the remnant of the Jewish community in Turkey and working a hate campaign against them. All this is in a climate of Turkish chauvinism and Islamic supremacism.
And all sorts of “Leftists” join forces with him in a “humanitarian” waterborne theatrical extravaganza.

Refusing to let a Jew into the land of Israel is wrong. Chomsky may be an aneri-semite, but then there are lots of antis-semites west of the Jordan River. Chomsky may be a rabble-rouser, but then Israel is chock full of Arab and jewish rabble-rousers such as Raed Salah and Ahmad Tibi and Oppenheimer and the whole anarchist NIF gang. But denying a fellow Jew his right to visit his homeland? That’s antisemitic.

Chomsky is definitely from another reality and way to go Dershowitz…I think we need to not underestimate how the former and his ilk in academia and the media can influence the mass of people who don’t have a clue what has been going on between Israel and Islam since the late 1900s…hopefully, it will be a hot summer for Israel’s enemies…love reading your articles Carolyn…keep speaking the truth…

    ‘the government crumpled’
Of course they did, thats all they do and Turkey and all of Israel’s enemies smell this pervasive stench of weakness coming from the PM in Jerusalem.
What do you expect when Israel always folds under minimal pressure ?
It’s going to take more than reclaiming a language.
The Grasshopper tribe whch rules over Israel must be driven out of power very soon.
Capitulation is the only thing the cowering and fearful Grasshopper tribe does these days to please her peace pimps and appease Israel’s enemies.
The political leadership are so vain in their desire to be loved and accepted by the global anti-Israel Nazi regime that they can not stand on their feet and can only rise to their knees.
Israel has only known retreat and appeasement and this is why everyone pushes Israel around today.
Will Netanyahu fold again under minimal pressure as his previous Quisling Prime Ministers have before him ?
He has a long track record already of doing just that and he gets a pass to do so from his devout followers.

Israel should ignore the attention-getting flotilla of “Tidy Bowl” boats sailing to Gaza. The main problem is weak leadership in Jerusalem. Until the Prime Minister exhibits genuine Zionist convictions, post-Zionist left-wingers will continue to take advantage of the situation. Sadly, it will take a devastating war with Iran and its allies to bring Israel back to reality. So long as a leadership vacuum remains, intellectual dishonesty will bring further delusions in academia and the media. And the existence of Israel is a reality, and it’s not going to go quietly.

DEBKAfile reports at http://www.debka.com/article/8805/ that the flotilla includes a helicopter that will fly the leading activists to Gaza over the Israeli ships. If they try it Israel should shoot down the helicopters. Let the world have a tantrum. Hang tough, Israel.

Maybe Israel can make a pre-emptive PR move by suggesting that when there is a ship from the International Red Cross allowed into gaza to check on the health and treatment of Gilad Shalit, then they will consider letting the ships into Israel, checking that the cargo is indeed ‘humanitarian’ , and then allowing it to pass into gaza by truck.
Another interesting idea, would be to allow all foreign press in, while having Israeli press (MEMRI, CAMERA, etc. )secretly film any distortions set up by the leftist press, and then simutaneously publicizing it when the Leftist press publish their distortions.

This is so depressing, I am just ill. “…But if we do not reassert our right to describe objective reality, our inability to explain why we are right and our detractors serve evil will be our undoing.” If Benjamin Netinyahu cannot draw a line in the sand and say, we are no longer giving in to doublespeak, revisionist history, or allowing those who would see us dead have the upper hand any longer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, how are “we” going to do anything, anything, to change what is happening.

exdemlib – Israel already made that PR move. MEMRI’s proofs of the distortions of the Western press don’t reach as far or as fast as their lies.
The flotilla should face a wall of ships and the helicopters should be forced to land in the drink. If they get themselves sunk that’s their problem.
Yuval – No anti-Semites or traitors should ever be allowed into Israel let alone having their Bar-Mitzvah meal of treif be paid for.

Stop complaining about the left’s appropriation of language, not because it’s untrue but because it’s a symptom.
The cause is people like Netanyahu buying into ‘the narrative’ of the left.
Until the Israeli public develops a backbone and stops apologizing, they’ll continue to get leaders like Olmert and Netanyahu.
Don’t bar the ships entry, that plays into the left’s narrative. Instead, search the ships, meet any armed resistance with deadly force and non-violent resistance with tasers.
Seize any arms and escort the ships to Israeli harbors, then transfer the food, medical supplies, etc to trucks and then, ship it into Gaza.
The problem isn’t food for supporters of Hamas.
The problem is arms, Israel needs to act pre-emptively, so announce that any major attack by Hamas will result in the annexation of Gaza and the complete expulsion of the former Gazans from what is now part of Israel.
When the Gazans attack, wipe them out and don’t stop until they completely surrender. When they surrender, escort them into Lebanon.
That won’t happen until the Israeli public grows some cajones. Until then, you’ll reap what you’re sowing.
So, either accept dhimmitude and the dissolution of Israel or kill your damn enemies.
If you don’t, they’re damn sure going to kill you. Anyone who picks up a gun and aims it at an Israeli is an enemy.
We kept killing the Nazi’s until they were utterly defeated. We destroyed Japan’s willingness to fight.

I’m sorry to say that Israel will not stand but will be eventually exterminated. Israel may win the next war which may come this summer despite being attacked within and without by Lebanon-Hizbollah, Syria, Iran, Hamas, the PA, “Israeli Arabs”, and possibly also by Turkey, Jordan, and Egypt if they see if the other assaults are plainly suceeding, and by an indirect attack by a boycott of arms from the United States and Europe. All this is nothing new except that the PA, Turkey, Jordan, and Egypt are funded by the United States and given the most up-to-date training and equipment. That war will be the most destructive, dwarfing the War of Independence and leaving hardly any structure aboveground in Israel undamaged. Even after a victory, limited as usual by threats of great power intervention, Israel will be back to the same old situation where the Western Media twist everything Israel does (or never did) into an war crime while ignoring arab war crimes, where Western “humanitarian” agencies support arab terrorists, where the Israeli Left and the “Israeli” arabs subvert Israel from within, where a quartet of hostile great powers headed by the United States demand concessions from Israel and supine, opportunistic Israeli politicians give it to them, where Iran continually threatens Israel with nuclear obliteration, where all of Israel’s enemies are allowed to rearm and retrain with even more effective weapons, and where the diaspora which will cower in silence or make excuses for anti-Semites because it is mostly assimilated and has chosen a liberal value system over one that upholds Judaism. I think Israel can withstand any external threat, except for the undermining from within by the continual sell-out by Israeli leaders which will eventually fatally weaken Israel. I believe Israel will be forced to fight for her existance and eventually fail, but it is better to live under and eventually die for the only decent, humane, and God-given tradition than live under the abominations of all the gentiles.

Okay so the Israeli government behaved reprehensibly in the case of the notorious anti Semite and Israel basher Noam Chomsky and in it’s rather tepid response to the Turkish sponsorship of the so called human rights flotilla to the Gaza Strip.
I would mention that no other Western country would react any differently to the pro Islamic terrorist provocations than Israel does. There seems to be an unwritten rule that when Islam enters the scene, every rule of proper behavior and even common sense must make itself scarce.
I would like to think that the Israeli government is taking a low profile approach in these two instances for tactical reasons, that is, by providing Chomsky with far less publicity than he wanted, and the flotilla with a confrontation on the sea coast, rather than in the glare of the TV lights.
But I don’t know the best public relations approach to incidents like these, and since the Americans and the Europeans also behave like a pack of wimps when in the presence of Islam, it is either an illness that plagues the West or an agreed upon strategy by all the Western parties.

Mammon demands a sacrifice and there are a whole lot of folk on this planet that prostrate themselves before it. Yamamoto said Japan could run wild in the Pacific for six months tops. Some of these folk may have a sixty or seventy year run but their run will not be worth the loss they will suffer when their time here is done.
Today I read Shalit will suffer if Israel does anything. Someone should tell these cowards to man up. If they were real men they would launch an offensive not torture and kill a captive. Jamal Nassar is attributed with saying they will treat Shalit in a way that satisfies his org’s God. Who is this God other than a human who’s money he wants. As agonising as the outlook for Israel appears, her future is bright. Truly.
Isaiah 41:8 “But you, Israel my servant, you are the people I have chosen, the descendants of Abraham my friend.
10 Do not be afraid- I am with you! I am your God- let nothing terrify you! I will make you strong and help you; I will protect you and save you.
11-12 Those who are angry with you will know the shame of defeat. Those who fight against you will die and will disappear from the earth.
13 I am the Lord your God; I strengthen you and say,’Do not be afraid; I will help you.’
14 The Lord says, ‘Small and weak as you are, Israel, don’t be afraid; I will help you. I, the holy God of Israel, am the one who saves you.’ ”
Israel, do not be afraid…Do not be afraid…Do not be afraid…three times in one short passage.
    Or this
Isaiah 63:1 Who is this coming from the city of Bozrah in Edom? Who is this marching so splendidly dressed in red, marching along in power and strength? It is the Lord, powerful to save, coming to announce his victory.
2 Why is his clothing so red, like that of a man who tramples grapes to make wine?
3 The Lord answers, “I have trampled the nations like grapes and no one came to help me. I trampled them in my anger and their blood has stained all my clothing.
4 I decided that the time to save my people had come; it was time to punish their enemies.
5 I was amazed when I looked and saw that there was no one to help me. But my anger made me strong and I won the victory myself.
    And this
Isaiah 62:10 People of Jerusalem, go out of the city and build a road for your returning people! Prepare a highway; clear it of stones! Put up a signal so that the nations can know
11 That the Lord is announcing to all the earth: “Tell the people of Jerusalem that the Lord is coming to save you, bringing with him the people he has rescued.
12 You will be called ‘God’s holy people’, ‘the people the Lord has saved’. Jerusalem will be called ‘the city that God loves’, ‘the city that God did not forsake.’ ”
From the mouth of a Gentile, Israel, your God is coming to save you. Stand and claim your right to the land, to Jerusalem. Stand in the face of the entire world and claim it.

There is a door,a path to escape what the Judge of all flesh is sending upon the earth and Israel.
When we fear Him,we fear nothing else.
We depart from evil and we are safe !
This is some forewarning from the Holy One of Israel of what is coming very soon to Israel and the Nations.
‘Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds.
11Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with them, for what their hands have done shall be done to them.
12As for My people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O My people, your leaders cause you to err, and they confuse (destroy and swallow up) the course of your paths.
13The Lord stands up to contend, and stands to judge the peoples and His people….
Moreover, the Lord said, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty and walk with outstretched necks and with undisciplined (flirtatious and alluring) eyes, tripping along with mincing and affected gait, and making a tinkling noise with [the anklets on] their feet,
17Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the heads of the daughters of Zion [making them bald], and the Lord will cause them to be [taken as captives and to suffer the indignity of being] stripped naked.
    Isaiah 3
I will also stretch out My hand over Judah and over all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and I will cut off the remnant of Baal(Idol worshipers who follow the phony 2 state final solution Road Map instead of seeking the Lord)from this place and the name of the idol priests with the [false] priests….And those who have drawn back from following the Lord and those who have not sought the Lord nor inquired for, inquired of, and required the Lord [as their first necessity]…..
The great day of the Lord is near–near and hastening fast. Hark! the voice of the day of the Lord! The mighty man [unable to fight or to flee] will cry then bitterly
That day is a day of wrath, a day of distress and anguish, a day of ruin and devastation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
16A day of the blast of trumpet and battle cry against the fortified cities and against the high towers and battlements.
17And I will bring distress upon men, so that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord; their blood shall be poured out like dust and their flesh like dung.
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s indignation and wrath. But the whole earth shall be consumed in the fire of His jealous wrath, for a full, yes, a sudden, end will He make of all the inhabitants of the earth.(
COLLECT YOUR thoughts, yes, unbend yourselves [in submission and see if there is no sense of shame and no consciousness of sin left in you], O shameless nation [not desirous or desired]!
2[The time for repentance is speeding by like chaff whirled before the wind!] Therefore consider, before God’s decree brings forth [the curse upon you], before the time [to repent] is gone like the drifting chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord comes upon you–yes, before the day of the wrath of the Lord comes upon you!
3Seek the Lord [inquire for Him, inquire of Him, and require Him as the foremost necessity of your life], all you humble of the land who have acted in compliance with His revealed will and have kept His commandments; seek righteousness, seek humility [inquire for them, require them as vital]. It may be you will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger.
4For [hear the fate of the Philistines:] Gaza shall be forsaken and Ashkelon shall become a desolation; the people of Ashdod shall be driven out at noonday and Ekron shall be uprooted.
5Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, the nation of the Cherethites [in Philistia]! The word of the Lord is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines; I will destroy you until no inhabitant is left….
The seacoast shall belong to the remnant of the house of Judah…
Therefore, as I live, says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Moab shall become like Sodom and the Ammonites like Gomorrah, a land possessed by nettles and wild vetches and salt pits, and a perpetual desolation. The remnant of My people shall make a prey of them and what is left of My nation shall possess them
11The Lord will be terrible to them, for He will make lean and famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship Him, every one from his place, even all the isles and coastlands of the nations.
12You Ethiopians also, you shall be slain by My sword.
13And [the Lord] will stretch out His hand against the north and destroy Assyria and will make Nineveh a desolation, dry as the desert.(D)
WOE TO her that is rebellious and polluted, the oppressing city [Jerusalem]!
2She did not listen to and heed the voice [of God]; she accepted no correction or instruction; she trusted not in the Lord [nor leaned on or was confident in Him, but was confident in her own wealth]; she drew not near to her God [but to the god of Baal or Molech]…
4.Her prophets(Politicians and Rabbi’s) are light [lacking truth, gravity, and steadiness] and men of treachery; her priests have profaned the sanctuary; [defrauding God and man by pretending their own word is God’s word] they have done violence to the law…
6.I [the Lord] have cut off nations; their battlements and corner towers are desolate and in ruins. I laid their streets waste so that none passes over them; their cities are destroyed so that there is no man, there is no inhabitant.
8.Therefore [earnestly] wait for Me, says the Lord, [waiting] for the day when I rise up to the attack [as a witness, accuser, or judge, and a testimony]. For My decision and determination and right it is to gather the nations together, to assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them My indignation, even all [the heat of] My fierce anger; for [in that day] all the earth shall be consumed with the fire of My zeal and jealousy
In that day you [the congregation of Israel] shall not be put to shame for all your deeds by which you have rebelled and transgressed against Me, for then I will take away out of your midst those who exult in your majesty and pride; and you shall no more be haughty [and carry yourselves arrogantly on or] because of My holy mountain.
12For I will leave in the midst of you a people afflicted and poor, and they shall trust, seek refuge, and be confident in the name of the Lord.
13What is left of Israel shall not do iniquity or speak lies, neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they shall feed and lie down and none shall make them afraid.
14Sing, O Daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice, be in high spirits and glory with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem [in that day].
15[For then it will be that] the Lord has taken away the judgments against you; He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, even the Lord [Himself], is in the midst of you; [and after He has come to you] you shall not experience or fear evil any more.
16In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear not, O Zion. Let not your hands sink down or be slow and listless.
17The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing.
18I will gather those belonging to you [those Israelites in captivity] who yearn and grieve for the solemn assembly [and the festivals], on whom [their exile and inability to attend services at Jerusalem have brought derision and] the reproach of it is a burden.
19Behold, at that time I will deal with all those who afflict you; I will save the limping [ones] and gather the outcasts and will make them a praise and a name in every land of their shame.
20At that time I will bring you in; yes, at that time I will gather you, for I will make you a name and a praise among all the nations of the earth when I reverse your captivity before your eyes, says the Lord.

God saves those that save themselves.
It’s part of His mostly failed experiment in a creation with Free-Will.

Hi Caroline, though it goes against my supposed nature,I tend to agree with the border gaurds on this one, thier is no neccessity to allow laws designed to allow for freedom of speech,be be twisted and used for State bashing,in my humble opinion the professors have behaved shamefully and should be brought in front of the judges, whenwe find incitors of violence and take no action, they`ll only continue their hate mongering,I`m not a judge, however i`ve seen the effects of abuse of laws,so we`ll see Caroline, are they permitted to to indoctrinate on tax-payers shekel,or do they loose the right to teach in Israel. Its sort of one of them turning points,ya gonna let it be or fix it.To my old friend Terry, glad to see your hanging in there man.

It is difficult for the secular heart, to hold onto faith.
    Our God knew that.
And our lessons of the heart are difficult ones.
    Aren’t they???
    Deuteronomy 32:15
But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.
20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.
21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:
27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.
28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.
29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.
36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.
37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,
38 Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.
39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

    Matthew 15:22
And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord,…

24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
    Steve,
    You are mistaken.
Jesus was a Jew, Torah observant, and a Torah teacher.
And when Jesus spoke, he was not speaking to ‘Christians’, Jesus message was to Jewish people.
    Matthew 24:6
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
    Steve,
    Do you think that Jesus was talking of ‘Christians’ ? when he said;
“…and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.”
“O that they [my people] were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!”
    Deuteronomy
    Numbers 24:13
If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?
14 And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.

23 And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!
    Zechariah 12:2
Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
It is difficult for the secular heart, to hold onto faith.
    Micah 7:7
Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
9 I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
    Isaiah 25:7
And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Caroline I hope I am not overreacting but it seems Israel doesn’t run out of crisis.
These need to be met head on with strong leadership of the government and with complete support of her citizens.
First and foremost the left and liberal of Israel need to move to the right letting the world and her enemies know Israel is united in their determination and will do whatever is necessary to protect her sovereignty.
Secondly all Israelis need to be reminded it was G-d who led them back to the Holy Land and He was there when the Israel was defending their G-d given rights to this land.
I may be wrong but I believe Israel has every right to retake Gaza completely removing Hamas. In addition Israel should destroy the Hezbollah missile buildup in Southern Lebanon as this is definite threat that cannot be taken lightly.
Remember above all the enemies want to see a divided Israel as only a united Israel will defend and survive.

God has told us what He is doing and He has given us the free-will to trust and depend on Him or ourselves. Seeing how many graves there are in the world I am depending on and putting my trust in God not humans, myself or others. Maybe living in this world for a hundred years or so is all you desire. As nice as I have had it here I, myself, am looking forward to a lot longer in a lot nicer place with my loved ones who have gone before me. And why do I think it is possible? It is possible only because of the mercy and grace of The Creator. Hope I see you there.
