This week on the Tribal Update, the television-on-internet show produced by Latma — the Hebrew-language media satire website I edit we have a jam packed program full of the sort of witty, biting, funny current affairs satire you have come to love!

This week’s show is longer than usual. We feature Peace Now’s legacy. We present the dilemmas of Israeli pilots in the south in light of the state’s refusal to enforce the law against Beduin criminal gangs.

We have Halil Majnoun, the Egyptian Minister of Conspiracy Theories discussing Egypt’s latest concerns about Mossad mosquito flies.

We have Jamil and Awad our favorite suicide bombers discussing Hamas cowardice and WilkiLeaks.

And much, much more.

Here’s the whole program.

Here is the Peace Now clip.

Latma is funded through contributions to the Center for Security Policy in Washington. If you would like to support our efforts, you can contribute by clicking here. It takes you to the online contribution page to the Center for Security Policy through Network for Good. To earmark your donation to Latma, please write “Latma” in the box marked “designation.”

Unfortunately, for now, we can only accept donations from donors in the US. We are currently establishing an Israeli non-profit through which we will be able to accept donations from other countries. Watch this space for updates.

Meantime, enjoy the show and have a Happy New Year!

    SUGGESTION FOR LATMA.
Dear Caroline, thank you for all your excellent Latma videos.
I also want to mention a Stand With Us video where they interview real UCLA students, one of them an aspiring diplomat. The interviewer asks them very – very basic questions about the Middle East, and the responses are so bizarre, not even your Latma team could have made them up.

I think that Latma could branch out into BORAT-type interviews with actual people. The possibilities are endless: from ISM activists to Jewish pro-Arab demonstrators, to Ben Gurion university students.
How much do they really know about the Jews and the Arabs, the history of Israel, and about the Arabs’ own expressed intentions towards all Jews of Israel – not just the settlers.
Maybe Latma could ask leftist professors what kind of Israel do they envision in hypothetical cases such as an Israel shrunk to 1948 borders, greater Arab and African immigration into Israel, an Arab-dominated Knesset, and other such dreams of the leftist elite.
Just get them on record, Caroline, and expose them on YouTube. The result should be a mix of tragedy and comedy, for sure.
Another theme that is rich with possibilities for video interviews is how the left supports Arab discrimination against Jews in housing, while condemning rabbis who want to protect Jewish neighborhoods against Arab encroachment. Why is it encouraged in one case while regarded as racism in another. Why is it that the government itself is showing selective outrage.

    NEWSFLASH!
For those who missed it, LATMA just won Israel’s Media Watch Award for Media Criticism. LATMA shares this prize with Jerusalem Post reporter Khaled Abu Toameh.
HOWEVER… “unlike previous years, it was decided that one winner would be decided by an online vote, in which 4,000 users voted. Of the candidates, Latma was far and away the largest vote-getter”, reported the Jerusalem Post.

CONGRATULATIONS CAROLINE and entire LATMA TEAM!

Hi Caroline…Re:your article on the Left, their position reminds me of many women I see who are abused by their bully husbands; not only can they not leave, they even invite more abuse. All of this is unconscious and they would vehemently disagree.
Like the Left and many other Jews they believe that their boundless love will transform the open aggressor and so the Left wants to trust the Palestinians. “If I promise not to hurt you, I hope you’ll honor my position and not hurt me…
Unfortunately the only effective way to deal with a bully is to break his nose or absent yourself. Acting the professional victim only invites more abuse because it’s a direction to the bully that they can continue with their abusive behavior and get way with it.
Israel must fight, there is no other way.
