Here’s the link to Netanyahu’s speech at the Yom Hashoah ceremony at Yad Vashem. This is why I am relieved that he’s in charge today and not Ehud Olmert, Ariel Sharon, Tzipi Livni, Ehud Barak or anyone else for that matter.

I have frustrations with Netanyahu. And I have criticisms of him. But I believe that unlike everyone else, he gets it. And that’s already half the fight won. G-d should just grant him the courage of his convictions and then we will know that when we say, “Never Again,” we aren’t just talking out the side of our mouths. There will not be a Holocaust in this generation.

Am Yisrael Chai.

Netanyahu’s speech was deeply moving and, regretably, right on target. He is a shining example of a true leader. As an American, I feel nothing but shame, and fear, when I look at the leadership in Washington – leadership that is aiding the forces that work to destroy Israel.
Thank you, Ms. Glick, for your work.
I stand with you and others around the world who embrace Israel with all our hearts and souls. But the embrace is not enough and, at times, I know not what to do.
I pray to G-d to protect Prime Minister Netanyahu, to protect and look after you, and Jews around the world, so many of whom must wake up now to the impending crisis that awaits. How to wake the sleeping masses, that is the question?

    Caroline,
You are right on the mark. Netanyahu may not be the perfect leader but we know God has a plan for Israel and it is no coincidence that Netanyahu is the leader of Israel at this time in history.
Thanks for all you do in support of Israel. We will continue to pray for Israel here in America.

If he doesn’t launch a preemptive military strike against Iran sooner rather than later, another Holocaust is a certainty. We will not survive a nuclear-armed Iran.

It was a good speech, consistant with what he said at Aushwitz, and finally showing some clear leadership. However building freezes in clearly Jewish neighbourhoods, allowing Arab building, land purchases, and refusal to pay rents, to drive Jews out of Israeli territory, apologising to rabid Turkish, American, and British anti-Semites, allowing Arab mobs to trap Jews and beat them within an inch of their lives, freeing Arab murderers from prison, making one-sided concessions for the sake of an Israel-weakening negotiation, allowing American diplomatic and military personnel who order Israel not to defend herself to reside in and visit Israel, making no reply to American, British, Egyptian and other institutions which boycott Israeli scholars and businesses, making no protest at the slow ethnic cleansing of Jews in Scandinavia and the persecution of European Jews, allowing pseudo-humanitarians to come and feed, clothe, finance, encourage, and arm terrorists, and allowing proposals that would destroy Israel to be put up for discussion, do NOT fortify our strength.

Meanwhile, notice how the radical-in-chief is careful to correctly pronounce the names of muslim nations … even names of muslim groups such as the Taliban.

And this perfect quote that sums up the crisis we are facing (from Pam Geller’s web site, Atlas Srugs):
“I sincerely hope that when Obama goes infor his annual checkup, the doctors at Bethesda will do a brain scan. For surely there must be something terribly wrong with a man who seems to be far more concerned with a Jew building a house in Israel than with Muslims building a nuclear bomb in Iran.” — Burt Prelutsky

In response to Terry, is it wise to assume that if Netanyahu doesn’t start a war, then there will be “another Holocaust?” Are you really sure you want Netanyahu to strike Iran, and be known as the one who started the war that might become a major Middle-Eastern conflict that would ensure a “Holocaust” in the killing of thousands of innocent people?
Is it less immoral to kill innocent Iranians than it is to kill innocent Israelis?

Prime Minister Netanyahu will not compromise Israel’s security, especially with war approaching. Soon enough, brave IAF pilots will receive orders to bomb Iranian nuclear sites. And Syria and Lebanon will also bear the brunt of any foolish moves of aggression against Israel. With G-d’s help, Israel will triumph over her enemies.

    Well said Steve.
    All good points.

Is the Israeli administration really building the nation, in the concessions it makes, in pursuit of a false peace?
How is peace established among men?
    In lies and falsehood?
By joining ourself to, by compromising with, those who we know are, wicked men?
Why was the law given, to God’s people?
    What was its purpose?
Wasn’t the law to be a guide to Israel, to teach them, that they were to learn to choose, to separate themselves, from what is ‘vile’ in God’s eyes?
Wasn’t the purpose of the law, that Israel would come to understand, that they would always be required in this life, to separate the precious from the vile?
To, ‘refuse the evil, and choose the good.’ ?
‘Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.’
    Leviticus
Yes, this is a heavy burden Israel.
To live in this secular world, and to be holy.
But your forefathers took that burden upon themselves, and thereby, have also placed that same burden, upon your shoulders.
‘…And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do….’
    Exodus 19:5-8
MK’s are the priests [today], they are the ‘shepherds’ of Israel.
And they themselves, have chosen that burden, before God.
‘Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.’
    Proverbs

I, too, have grave concerns about Netanyahu’s integrity as a national leader. Lately, though, I desperately want to believe he is finally starting to care more for Israel’s future than for his own political career. Ironically, it may be Obama’s shameful mistreatment of Israel and of the Prime Minister that has served (I hope) to awaken Netanyahu to certain hard realities involving Israel’s urgent needs–and to his own weighty responsibilities. G-d has made promises to Israel. It’s high time to stand upon them, so that all may see there is a G-d in Israel.

Netanyahu’s speach was well stated. I am ashamed my country’s (USA) Judeo-Christian heritage has devolved to such a state where we have a radical muslim as president. Make no mistake about it, Obama is not a friend of Israel. He is more concerned with appeasing the Arab world at Israel’s expense. I know Israel can’t wait for a stronger US president to step in to deal with Iran. It was just a few years ago we were calling for Iraq to give up weapons of mass destruction & we brought down Sadam’s regime. Iran is a now a quantum leap more dangerous than Iraq & we in the USA are doing nothing!
The only thing I would have changed in Netanyahu’s speach is the last part. I wished he had said
“We are not here by chance. We returned to this land because God regathered us as He promised He would; we returned to Zion and by God’s mighty hand we recaptured Jerusalem in 1967. It is our city. We are paving roads north and south, and transforming a barren land into a flourishing garden. This is our answer to those who seek our destruction.” As the prophets said all those who seek our destruction will be cut in pieces”
Israel must draw it’s greatest strength from the fact that it was God who regathered Israel and will ultimately fight for His people when the rest of the world no longer shows the moral resolve to protect the one true friend it has in the middle east.

Maybe he “gets” it but he’s sure not doing much about it. I’m tired of hearing Bibi cry out to the world to do something about Iran. Wake up! It ain’t gonna happen! It’s up to you to do something about it.

Scott, This isn’t about what someone does or doesn’t become known for. It’s about survival. Your moral equivalency argument is dreadfully weak. Iran has clearly stated their desire to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Should Israel sit back and wait to be destroyed.
Shalomz, I agree it is frustrated. Heartbreaking, really. Netanyahu sounds desperate at times and it feels as if he hasn’t grasped, or cannot face or accept the harsh reality we now face – that the world is abandoning Israel. She is truly alone in the wilderness. I also have difficulty wrapping my brain around it. I never thought I would witness such a thing in my lifetime. It takes my breath away.

Thanks to the protection of Iran by the United States and Russia, I believe the time for an Israeli air strike on Iranian installations has unfortunately passed. It was always problematic, no matter how good the intelligence is, knowing with absolute certainty the location of every single Iranian site. The IAF cannot be expected to have enough capability after the Americans shoot their planes down when flying over American forces in Iraq and the Persian Gulf. The possibility of surprise is not to be had when American-Saudi radar inform the Iranians that an attack is on its way. The Iranian anti-aircraft capability is also getting a big boost by installation of Russian S-300 systems. Some Iranian installations are so deeply dug into mountains that one needs either precise information about every single entrance and exit to hit by bunkerbusters and seal off the site or a landing by troops to take over the site or a nuclear strike to obliterate the entire mountain – not an operation likely to be successful and if successful it is likely to have long-term horrific consequences. Finally it was always problematic regarding the fact that the Iranians and their allies have tens of thousands of missiles for a counterstrike including now a terrorist delivered dirty bomb. I think it’s too late even for the Americans to whine that Israelis ought to after all do the strike on Iran like the Americans are now whining about the Scuds in Lebanon. But I don’t think the Americans will whine about Iran, they’ll blame the Iranian Bomb on the Jews and demand that Israel dismantle its nuclear capability. In fact they’ve already started to do so by subtly demanding that Israel sign the NPT, barring sales of equipment that Israel could use in its nuclear programme, and denying Israeli Nuclear Physicists visas to enter the USA.

    Carol,
Men are dumb, God is wise.
God knows what he is doing.
In all of these troubles of men, God is separating the sheep from the goats, the wheat from the chaff.
And nothing that man can do, will stop God’s plan.
It is man’s own nature, which is driving these events forward.
‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.’
    Isaiah
    Read the Song of Moses,
    Deuteronomy 31:14 to Deuteronomy 32:47
‘For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.’
    Daniel 12:10
    Isaiah 48:10
    Revelation 21:7-8
Pray for Israel [and for ourselves!], and read God’s word.

Jews do not need to re-build a temple.
Even now, God is with the righteous ppl of Israel.
    Q.
Why is that, so hard to believe?
    A.
Because you have a hard heart.
All Israel need do, is to choose to do, what they themselves know, is right[ous].
    +++
Where is the God of Israel?
    Q.
Can light and darkness, exist together?
    A.
Light and darkness, cannot exist together.
Light will drive away the darkness.
Or, the darkness will try to extinguish the light.
    But they cannot co-exist.
    It is an impossibility.
Light and darkness, and, goodness and wickedness.
They are separate, and by definition, they cannot co-exist.
The wicked cannot ‘see’ God, because the spirit of God will not ‘touch’ them.
    Why not?
    Our God is Holy.
And God will not ‘touch’ those, who refuse to separate the good, from the evil.
And God will not ‘touch’ those, who refuse to discern between good, and evil.
Pray for Israel, pray for yourself.
