At the Knesset this afternoon, Bibi told Obama to leave us alone. In a speech welcoming Brazil’s president, (by the way what is he doing here? He’s buddy, buddy with Ahmadinejad), Bibi said that Israel will continue to build in all of Jerusalem’s neighborhoods. He also said that we would resume building in Judea and Samaria in six months. So we’ll see. At a minimum, he didn’t give in. Let’s hope he keeps this up.

Keep it coming Bibi. Please keep it coming.

Great news. I’m sure the Arabs are phoning the White House requesting that Israel should not be so deeply antagonized that it walks away from the pseudo-peace talks trap. Bad policy – when that happens, the Arabs are the losers.
Now, as a price for further discussion (not negotiations), Israel should start getting more realistic.

Why did the Jpost remove the story similar to the one linked to in Haaretz ?
Carolyn, I am not so sure that this is not a very positive thing. It is an opening for Netanyahu to explain why “Jews and dogs not allowed” should be so passe for any neighborhood in the world, especially in Israel, and even more so in Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Netanyahu should not be underestimated. Mr. Netanyahu bent over backwards to accommodate the Obama Administration, and now realizes that approach failed. President Obama needs to concentrate on America, and stop meddling into Israeli domestic affairs.

Do you think there might be a chance that since the Obama administration has also went against the Saudi will of an Israeli attack on the Iranian nuclear program Netanyahu knows that the Americans can’t keep there threats?
This situation seems very weird from an American point of view. What reason do they have to go so harshly against Israel when it is completely against what the American people support and believe in. There is no benefit and the more the Americans “push” Israel aid back the more independent Israel becomes from the American aid. People are lead to believe that without American aid which has no direct effect on our economy we are doomed but the truth is that aid is no more then militarily and the money never leaves American soil, so the only direct effect would be on the American economy.
And what about all the technologies that are shared between the countries? How does the Obama administration believe the the military will react to its lose in a great technological asset that is helping it so much in Iraq and Afghanistan. Prevent aid to Israel is eventually and lose lose situation for the Americans losing and ally and economy thats around the alliance and the high tech military advantage the US has today.
Its stupid and it will never really happen so why can’t Netanyahu just be strong all the way and do only whats in Israel’s interest??

I am grateful that some common sense is being used.
As you have said, the enemies of Israel only want to destroy Israel and thus it is sheer stupidity to give bits of Israel away for nothing in return other than those pieces being used as attack launch platforms against Israel.
If some people in Israel are deluded into believing that giving away their country is the only way to achieve peace then they should leave Israel because all that policy will do do is destroy the country.
Therefore whatever scenario they envisage they are looking at a lose-lose situation.
The only possible winning strategy for Israel is to be strong.
I praise God that Mr Netanyahu sees this to the extent that he does.
    There is no other way.

I would think that by now Barack Obama must realize that he has taken this entire issue much too far, and that the time has come to tone down the rhetoric and ease on to a new problem. Obama has also, although he apparently doesn’t realize it, put the Israeli Palestinian peace talks on indefinite hold, confirmed to the Israeli Jewish public that he is indeed hostile to Israel, and maybe, just maybe, started the process by which American Jewry will begin to seperate itself from it’s knee jerk support of the Democratic Party.
On the other hand our Prime Minister Netanyahu, by virtue of Obama’s uncompromising and hysterical rhetoric has become a heroic leader by his courageous defence of Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem.

I still don’t think the wrong Netanyahu (the right one being his father) will keep defending Israel. He still thinks that the western nations can be persuaded of an Iranian threat and he’s made unprecedented concessions vis-a-vis the Palestinian conflict in order to do so. He doesn’t want to lose the $10 Billion US military aid package. He doesn’t want to face down hostility from all the great powers. Fundamentally like any Jewish leader he wants to be liked by the goyim and standing up for Jews gets in the way of that.
American Jews will not stand up (aside from the recent minimal ADL announcement) against the leftist American anti-Semites like Obama, Clinton, Biden, Emmanuel, and Axelrod who think that the 1967 war was a naked act of Israeli aggression, that the Egyptians never blockaded the straits of Tiran or mobilized their armies on Israel’s borders or had mobs screaming for Jewish blood in the streets of Cairo or expelled the Egyptian Jews. All that in their view was a Zionist fantasy like the Shoah. They view the Israelis as terrorists, oppressors, and aggressors even while waiting at a bus stop, riding a tram, studying in a shul, or just plain breathing.

    @”netherlands”
I knew a Dutch Jew in Philadelphia who was saved by Dutch Catholics. I was surprised to learn that from him, because the only case I ever heard of before that was Anne Frank. I asked if there were many, and he said yes. But when I suggested he write a book about it, so the knowledge wouldn’t be lost, he said it was just too painful to recall.
So, thank you, Netherlands, and I wish you success in your fight to preserve yourselves. It used to be the Israel was the front line in the war against the barbarians, but now Islam has opened many fronts around the world. There may not be (much) shooting there, yet, but a state of war exists, none the less. I hope you have many more like Geert Wilders, and that they can lead you to victory against the beasts who would devour the world.

Hillary Clinton has supposedly “made-up” with Netanyahu. She still thinks he is a F-ing Jew Bastard. No matter how supportive Americans, the American Congress, and Presidents like Reagan and George W. Bush, are of Israel, American foreign policy aids and abets Israel’s enemies and limits Israel’s ability to defend herself. The U.S State Department and U.S. leadership has an infinite capacity to ignore American public opinion.
I know some Dutch Christians who sheltered Jews during the war. It indeed was common during the war and far more dangerous for them to do so than was the case with the Danes who managed to export their Jewish problem in one day. The decency of the Dutch people was also subverted by their leadership some of whom collaborated with the Germans and by the majority of Dutch clergy who remained silent if not actually hostile to Jews. Decency always seems to come from the bottom up.

Another of the right Netanyahus has spoken out against Obama’s anti-Semitism, this time Dr. Hagi Ben-Artzi, Bibi’s brother-in-law. Its too bad the right Netanyahu won’t be present at Bibi’s upcoming meetings with the EU, the Quartet of great anti-Israel powers, and AIPAC. Bibi unfortunately will tell AIPAC that the problem with all Israel’s two-faced friends and real enemies is really no problem and he really hasn’t cut a deal to make Jerusalem and Samaria and Judea beyond the green line Judenrein. He’ll just make it impossible for Jews to live there after sending in his Kapos, making sure they can’t replace so much as a toilet, and leaving them to the tender mercies of the US trained PA goons.

Speaking as a belgian atheist (granted, I identify much more with Americans than with Europeans but still), I’d just like to say that, even though our national governments and especially our medias may paint a completely different picture of national opinion, there are plenty of people (albeit not a majority) in Europe who support the Israeli struggle for survival wholeheartedly.
I for one am overcome with anger and sadness whenever our government officials (especially American ones) once again simultaneously condemn Israeli actions and appease islamofascism, usually on the basis of insane leftist propaganda.
If, god forbid, the day ever comes when Israel forfeits to the cult of death, that will be the beginning of the end of western civilization as we know it. Hopefully the political tide will turn soon, before it’s too late.

“I would think that by now Barack Obama must realize that he has taken this entire issue much too far, and that the time has come to tone down the rhetoric and ease on to a new problem.”
Caroline, The above quote from one of your readers sets the table to make one wonder how many more people in the US and Israel think this way. That this is just a case of bad politics over extended. “Ease on to a new problem” The POTUS and company are on a hardcore mission and are not playing by the rules to get it done. They mean to get it done no matter what. Oh they can’t do immediately what they want for that would set all kinds of alarms off screaming in the public minds but they are pressing because they have a clock running against them. They’ve kept the curtain of propaganda up to keep the masses from really awakening to their extreme agenda. They intend to until it’s too late. Right now at this moment since their plans are finding resistance and it’s increasing they are set to trample the Constitution and grab the power by default without even a vote. It is RADICAL ideologues going for Uncle Sam’s throat. How powerful is propaganda to sedate the masses until it’s too late. You named William Ayers as one of his cohorts not to forget the other radicals. Think to yourself, what do all these guys believe and want? Why did William Ayers help launch our current POTUS into politics first in Chicago? Why later once in the US Senate did he almost immediately set himself for the White House? There IS NO “easing on to a new problem”. There is a radical agenda being executed and pushed if not rammed down our throats with dire consequences if not stopped politically. The ignoring of Iran’s rising is not a mistake or bad decision it is being done on purpose. I understand how some of you conservative publishers and broadcasters are afraid and guarded to say “conspiracy theories” and rightly so. This is no theory though but a live in action attempted dismantling of the US and I think you know that. Is it not logical to understand why suddenly Israel is being treated with contempt by our government if not worse in light of this. Take that name list you have and start publishing who they are and what they want and their connection with the current administration. Instead of being bewildered take to heart you have just connected the dots something the American journalists are refusing to do. They are in lock step with them. I read you sometimes and you sound no different than the person who I quoted above. They may, as you know, hide his history and papers so that you can’t really know him but his friends tell the tale. Take the story and tell it. Wake up the rest of the neighborhood in the US and Israel. The clock is running.

This is right. Obama and his crew are hard leftists, if not down right Marxists. They view everything from that prism. For instance, Obamacare is not about saving money or anything, but to provide health care for any and all in the world who turn up in America -illegal or not, at the expense of middle class Whites. This is international socialism.
As for Israel, as all Islam views Jews with doctrinal hostility, Obama’s views are coloured by his sympathy for Muslims and Islam, as he has made clear.
So expect more hostility to Israel from the first un-American president of America. His pride and ego will take umbrage if Israel does not go along with his ‘assisted suicide’ program for Israel, and he will take increasingly harsh measures against Israel.
Obama has now sided with Argentina over the Falklands, despite Britain’s total support of America through 9/11, and in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are sacrificing blood and treasure for a nation whose president is now ashamed to meet publicly with our PM Brown.
If he can do this to the most stalwart ally of America, he can do a lot worse to Israel.
Stand firm Israel. This Obama is not American at heart, and sooner or later, Americans, who are fair-minded people, will oppose him.

I´m from Brazil and just to let you know the way some people of my country see the facts. Many brazilians are proud defenders of Israel, some because of israelly family ties but many others because of principles. Freedon and individual rights are under atack both here and there. The socialist/comunist party is now in power for 6 years in Brazil and the very core of democracy is under heavy fire. That man (president)is trying to show internally to our people that he is neutral concerning middle east afairs. We´re are under new arms restrictions laws and many fear that a civil disarming act with confiscation is just arround the corner. He is clearly forming strong alliances with Iran and other terrorists. Shame. But whe´re not him and his labor/comunist party. Just some thoughts.

I applaud Prime Minister Netanyahu for telling Obama to butt out. I am not a Jew but I am intelligent enough to know that the survival of Israel is the survival of civilization on this planet.
For some unknown reason, Barack Obama was placed in the highest office in our country by questionable means and it has become very clear that his only aim is to destroy world democracy and install a form of socialism in its place. He has planted the seeds of socialism in an already ultra-liberal democratic party, sold our economy to China and Saudi Arabia, and has run up a national debt that can never be paid in less than 1000 years. If the US economy fails, the world economy fails and out of this failure will come world chaos. Now he wants to alienate the state of Israel, the only oasis of sanity in the entire Middle East and our only true ally since the end of WWII.
Please, Israel, never surrender to the likes of Barack Obama or Joseph Biden and please, Israel, do not condemn the United States of America because we will always stand with you in spite of Obama and Biden.
