My friend Benzion Netanyahu died yesterday. I feel such an emptiness and sorrow. I will write about him when I get my head around my thoughts and feelings. For now I just want to say  that his memory should be a blessing for his family and for our nation. He was a good friend and a great man. It was a great honor and pleasure to know him. And I am so sorry that his death found me in New York and I missed his funeral.

In Israel's case, compare how we celebrated our 50th Independence Day in 1998 to what celebrations involve today. During the 1990s, Israel's elite took a vacation from reality and history and they brought much of the public with them. Then-foreign minister Shimon Peres said that history was overrated. The so-called "New Historians," who rummaged through David Ben-Gurion's closet look…

It is hatred of Jews that dictates the legal regimes, foreign policies, military aspirations, cultural mores, educational themes and even public health policies of our neighbors from Ramallah to Tehran. Despite the centrality of Jew-hatred in all aspects of public life in the Arab and Muslim world, our neighbors' unrelenting and irrational abhorrence for Israel and the Jewish people re…

Senator Rick Santorum has an important oped in the New York Daily News today about how the Obama administration is breaking US law by not recognizing that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.  As he writes: It is actually not well known that the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 made it U.S. law to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and that the waiver provision of the act only applied to moving the embassy to Jerusalem. A letter to President Bill Clinton -- signed by 84 U.S…

The following is from Lee Whitnum, a Jew hating Democrat candidate for Joe Lieberman's Senate seat.We should remember that in the Democrat primary in 2006, Lieberman's rival Ned Lamont heavily employed anti-Jewish innuendos, blaming neoconservatives, (that is, Jews), for the war in Iraq. His backers were unabashed in their use of anti-Jewish slurs against Lieberman and his family. And Lamont WON the primary. And the Democrat Party refused to back Lieberman in the primary. Obviousl…
